Adolph Coors Co. is no stranger to controversy when it comes to gay and lesbian issues, but now it seems the Golden, Colo.-based brewery is the source of contention between two gay organizations.
The trouble began in May, when the LGBT committee of the National Lawyers Guild called the advertising department of Denver-based gay newsweekly Out Front. The guild wanted to place a full-page advertisement in the paper protesting what it alleges is the Coors company's financial support of antigay conservative groups such as the Heritage Foundation and the Boy Scouts of America.
