HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Pennsylvania Gov. Mark Schweiker today issued the following statement on the plan approved today by the School Reform Commission, which will pave the way for dramatic and historic education reforms in the Philadelphia School District:
"Today marks the true beginning of a new era for the Philadelphia School District. An era where children -- not adults and special interests -- come first.
