Anglo American Seeks Weavers Alternative
The Anglo American Ins. Co. is looking to develop its own underwriting capacity to cover U.S. excess liability risks previously written by the company through the "Weavers pool" on the London market, the London-based carrier has announced.
"Anglo American, whose shareholder funds exceed $80 million, is developing its underwriting capacity with a view to the early resumption of underwriting new risks," said Anglo American's chairman and chief executive officer, John Cumming. "Plans are in place for a full and experienced underwriting team."
