SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The only thing wrong with the T-shirts the Patriots are wearing at training camp this summer is that they've got the wrong month printed on 'em.
Forget September. For the defending Super Bowl champions, "Targeting January" would seem to be the only appropriate motto.
The notion that the Pats' shirts are tasteless given what happened to the world last September would be laughable were it not actually dangerous. September will be around for many years to come. If its only significance is to be the awful events of Sept. 11, 2001, we'll have denigrated the victims, not commemorated them.
