KYRGYZ OPPOSITION DEMANDS THAT AKAYEV RESIGN
BIHSKEK. July 18 (Interfax) - On Thursday, participants at the Second People's Kurultai (assembly) demanded that Kyrgyz President Askar Akayev resign, according to representatives of the committee for the protection of parliament member Azimbek Beknazarov.
The meeting took place Thursday in the village of Kerben, the regional center of the Aksyysk region in the Dzhalal-Abad region in southern Kyrgyzstan.
