European Central Bank speaks out against changes to central bank legislation in Central Europe
Budapest. July 12. INTERFAX-EUROPE - Draft amendments to Central Bank Acts, as now being considered in both Poland and Hungary, could weaken central bank independence, according to the European Central Bank (ECB). In its monthly report for July, the ECB sets out its negative opinion on draft laws now before parliament in both countries.
