Arnault Wins: Racamier Quits Vuitton
PARIS - Henry Racamier on Thursday resigned as chairman of Louis Vuitton SA.
His action ended a bitter 15-month struggle with Bernard Arnault, chairman of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the parent company of Louis Vuitton, for control of the luxury leather goods company.
Racamier, 77, tendered his resignation at an extraordinary meeting of the supervisory board of Louis Vuitton, just hours after a Paris court rejected a request by Vuitton lawyers that it cancel a key set of stock warrants representing 12 percent of LVMH. Most of the warrants are controlled by Arnault.
