Jewellery retailer H Samuel has appointed Maher Bird Associates (MBA) to handle its [pounds sterling]1m advertising account. The agency will create a profile-boosting campaign this ear.

MBA picked up the business after a three-way pitch against Walsh Trott Chick Smith and Burkitt DB.

H Samuel's account has been dormant since the chain parted company with Mortimer Whittaker O'Sullivan in November 1998. It is believed the chain is gearing up for a television campaign. The media buying and planning account, handled by John Ayling & Associates, is unaffected by the eview.
