In schools, airplanes, and other public areas peanuts are becoming an endangered species. The fear is that a child with a severe peanut allergy will experience an accidental exposure resulting in a severe and possibly deadly allergic reaction.
A recent British study looked at the number of deaths in children from a peanut allergy. They looked at all the death certificates of children under 16 years old who died from January, 1990, to February, 2000.
They found eight children who died from an allergic reaction to a food. Milk allergy was the cause in four of the deaths. No child died ...
