In what is kind of a David vs. Goliath match-up, the battle for land between West Dundee and Elgin could be decided Thursday.
The small town and big city are fighting for 120 acres of land on which a developer wants to build an industrial park. The Northern Illinois Planning Commission has heard arguments from both communities, and it is expected to pick a preliminary winner Thursday morning.
Ultimately, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency will consider NIPC's recommendation and make a final ruling.
