Aug. 1--A Fresno company has come up with what could be a breakthrough in dealing with the surplus of Valley raisins: Spread it out.
Midway Farms Inc. has developed a line of dried-fruit spreads that include raisin and dried-plum butters. At this point, it's more likely you'll taste them as ingredients in some food product than that you'll be spreading them on your muffin.
But that could come with time as well.
