Government attacking opposition daily Magyar Nemzet? - press overview

Budapest. July 1. INTERFAX-EUROPE - The state-owned publisher of official government gazettes, Magyar Hivatalos Kozlonykiado Kft (MHK), has cancelled its contract to print the Fidesz-linked opposition daily Magyar Nemzet as well as its related, Smallholder-targeted Szabad Fold. On Friday, MHK informed Nemzet Kft, the publisher of the two dailies, that as of 31 December 2002 it will no longer print the newspapers.
