Stealth storage start-up Okapi Software dropped its veil Tuesday enough to introduce its first iSCSI products.
Dubbed iStorageController, the widgetry is targeted at early adopters of iSCSI network storage.
The San Diego, California start-up claims that its widgetry will enable an organization to set up an IP SAN for $5,000. iSCSI refers to a protocol for transporting SCSI data over TCP/IP networks to expand the distance capabilities of SCSI data transfers. It replaces the parallel SCSI direct cabling scheme with a network fabric.
