Aug. 2--NAGS HEAD, N.C.--As temperatures and humidity soar, The Outer Banks Hospital has experienced a jump in the number of visitors to its emergency room.
Heat exhaustion, dehydration and severe sunburn have been among the top complaints, said Kelly Shields, the hospital's public relations coordinator.
"We have contractors who are getting up and going to work and not eating breakfast," she said. "They don't have anything in their systems to keep them hydrated, so the heat exhaustion sets in. By lunchtime they are about to collapse." Shields said ...
