Aug. 2--Alexander Rivera should be getting ready for kindergarten. Instead, the 5-year-old from Hasbrouck Heights is confined to a wheelchair and hooked to an oxygen tank and a feeding tube. He has the learning capacity of a newborn.
Alexander is the victim of a medical error incurred at birth. Doctors at Hackensack University Medical Center accidentally crushed his skull when they used forceps and vacuum suction to pull him out of his mother's womb.
