Judith Leiber: Prime Time
NEW YORK -- After nearly three decades as a handbag designer, Judith Leiber is getting more attention than ever.
One reason is her whimsical bags, which include such amusing numbers as a purple and green minaudiere shaped like an eggplant or one shaped like a baby.
Last month, Bergdorf Good-man opened a Leiber boutique in a prime spot on the main floor. Some of her other top accounts -- Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus, for example -- have also expanded her retail space, and a few others have opened Leiber boutiques.
