UMI Poised for Growth in Europe
United Musical Instruments has strengthened its position in the European market with the acquisition of Musica GmbH, an Austrian manufacturer and distributor of musical instruments and accessories. Musica maintains a factory in Steyr, Austria, and a branch office and warehouse in Vienna.
UMI Chairman Bernhard Muskantor said that Musica was acquired to provide a base for expanding UMI's sales in both Eastern and Western Europe. Because of the central location of Austria, the company is ideally situated to serve the entire European market.
