Supporters of paid family leave have the advantage of a wonderfully sounding title for their cause.
After all, what Mr. Scrooge could possibly begrudge Bob Cratchit some paid time off to tend to Tiny Tim in his final days?
Legislation making California the first state in the union requiring employers to grant up to 12 weeks of paid family leave-recently passed the state Senate and will be taken up by the Assembly after the summer break.
