Murdoch still hot on video venture
NEW YORK CITY -- Murdoch Magazines' Salon Network isn't quite dead. Recently, the company canceled launch plans for the beauty salon video network, citing poor advertising response. But at year's end, Murdoch will re-evaluate whether the ad climate will be right to try again, says Phillip Cassidy, director of special projects.
If relaunched, the effort could be directly tied into Murdoch's magazines. Many of the advertising markets targeted for the video program are served by such company titles as Mirabella and New Woman.
