Three New York men have pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Syracuse, N.Y., to a 10-year asbestos removal and disposal scheme that operated throughout the state.
Thomas Reed of Amsterdam, N.Y., a general manager of AAR Contractor pleaded guilty to 14 felonies, including a racketeering conspiracy, eight Clean Air Act violations, a Toxic Substances Control Act conspiracy and four counts of filing false and fraudulent tax returns. He faces a maximum penalty of 77 years in prison and a fine of $3.5 million, plus restitution to victims.
Reed is one of 10 defendants who are under prosecution from the U.S. attorney for the Northern District of New York. ...
