HAS he got news for the Welsh?
Ian Hislop, acid-tongued Private Eye editor and news-quiz pundit, has turned his attention to the patron saint of Wales. And what he's found might upset a few St David fans.
Because Hislop, who keeps his own Welsh roots well hidden (he was born in Mumbles!) claims St David was not the popular image of a kindly old man with a dove on his shoulder who liked doing ``little th i ngs .''
He says the real St David was a teetotal, vegetarian monk who spent much of his time standing up to his neck in freezing water!
