The progress has been incremental, nothing close to the breakthrough third baseman Justin Lincoln or the Colorado Rockies organization wanted. His paltry average suggests Lincoln is wandering through a lost season at Class A Salem.
He is hitting .217 with eight homers and 34 RBI. But that's after a July surge when Lincoln hit .316 for the month and raised his average from .190 at the end of June.
When Lincoln crossed the Mendoza line, he said he heard jokes from some teammates about ``reaching his weight.''
