Ed C. Jerman is known as the "father of x-ray technology." Jerman became interested in x-ray shortly after its discovery and produced his first x-rays in May 1896. He was the first person to describe the qualifies of a good radiograph, and his greatest contributions were made in the area of x-ray technique. He was an excellent teacher and devoted much of his time to teaching the basics of technique to both technologists and physicians. Ed C. Jerman was one of the founders of the ASRT and served as its president at the first annual meeting in 1921.
