FREAK weather brought torrential rain and flash floods to Scotland yesterday causing massive road and rail disruption.
Some areas were swamped by twice their monthly rainfall in just 24 hours as a huge swathe of thunderstorms rolled across the country.
Flooding closed scores of roads while almost all train services out of Glasgow were cancelled. Commuters were stranded and motorists forced to abandon their cars as the waters rose. By late yesterday 12 rivers threatened to burst their banks.
