Aug. 7--LOS LUNAS, N.M.--The Valencia County Planning and Zoning Commission on Tuesday is scheduled to consider a site design plan by Peoples Energy Resources Corp., which plans to build the natural gas-fired plant in the Rio Grande Industrial Park, south of Rio Communities.
State Environment Director Peter Maggiore recently signed an order granting the Chicago-based energy company an air quality construction permit, allowing construction and initial operation "with conditions necessary to protect human health and the environment."
