CHANCELLOR Gordon Brown and his wife Sarah were said to be ``very saddened'' to hear of Cherie Blair's miscarriage.
The couple, whose 10-day-old daughter Jennifer Jane died in January this year, said they were thinking of the Blairs.
A spokesman said the Browns, who are on holiday in the United States, had been in touch with the Prime Minister and his wife after being told the news.
