The acquisition of Cliff Floyd and the decision to pay Jose Offerman to go away may have stretched the Red Sox budget but owner John W. Henry said there is still room to acquire additional help for the stretch run under the right circumstances.
"The waiver wire has opened up, so to speak, but it depends on what the deal is," Henry said. "Our main concern is to be flexible going into next year and you don't always get that with what comes across the waiver wire."
