"It's all junk," Johnson Hartig claims with a loud laugh, gesturing around his densely packed L.A. apartment. "But when you truly love things, somehow it all comes together." Life and work are often indistinguishable for Hartig, the inhabitant and decorator of these raffish rooms and a partner in Libertine, a new company that embellishes old clothing and sells it at Barneys New York and Maxfield in Los Angeles.
