Observe, Wonder, Learn
Display a variety of owl pictures, books, and other resources around your classroom. Good resources include The Book of North American Owls by Helen Roney Sattler (Clarion Books, 1995), All About Owls by Jim Arnosky (Scholastic Press, 1995), and Owls: See How They Grow by Mary Ling (Dorling Kindersley, 1992). Then create a three-column chart to help your class organize its owl observations, questions, and new knowledge. Encourage students to continue to add to the chart as they learn more about owls.
