Aug. 13--Bankruptcy at US Airways and troubles at other airlines should have no immediate impact at South Bend Regional Airport. US Airways sent a fax to the St. Joseph County Airport Authority on Sunday, the same day it filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 11, saying that service to the airport will not be interrupted, said John Schalliol, the airport's executive director.
"It now looks like we won't see any direct result of this bankruptcy filing here in South Bend," Schalliol said.
The airline operates five round-trip flights daily from South Bend to its hub ...
