Widebody rentals continue to drift, with few signs that lease rentals of widebodies are improving, though a few types are proving easier to place.
While the market for widebodies remains weak, particularly for the older examples, there are a few signs that the worst may be over. The number of newer widebodies entering the used market may at last be less than those being placed or purchased. Even some less attractive types are moving. Qatar, for example, has purchased an A300-600R from Korean Air; China Cargo leased a B747-200F from Atlas; and even Lufthansa purchased an ex-Emirates A300-600 from Airbus.
