MY DOG is elderly - like myself - and we are both feeling the effects of arthritis. I take supplements, including glucosamine, which help. Could they do the same for my dog?

THE degenerative effects of arthritis are the same for dogs - and cats - as for humans. They, too, suffer from stiffness in the joints, inflammation and pain.
Dogs are more prone to arthritis than cats. Cats can control their exercise because they are left to their own devices, so if they feel uncomfortable they can restrict their movement. It's not the same for dogs, of course - because they are taken for walks. ...
