LAST SEASON DEREK LOWE, FAILED closer of the Boston Red Sox, couldn't walk to the bullpen without hearing the boos. He couldn't enjoy an evening out without getting an earful from fans who were not shy about being up close and personal.
Now he's become the one harassing the opposition. One of the American League's stingiest pitchers is a big reason the Red Sox had baseball's best record through late-June.
