AS THE plane flew over Provence on its approach to Marseilles airport, it was easy to see why the region, which surrounds this southern French port, is a favourite haunt of the British.
It's not only its verdant plains and steep valleys; there are 300 days of dry, warm weather a year, uncluttered roads, a rural lifestyle and eye- catching properties in which to live.
