Aug. 14--TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--With Republicans striving to paint her as a candidate who dances around the issues, Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Janet Reno offered Tuesday a detailed plan to expand health insurance coverage for children and the working poor.
Her proposal involves guaranteeing health insurance to every child under 19 whose family makes less than $54,000 a year as well as providing basic health insurance to adults, including the childless.
She also proposes restoring Medicaid benefits to an estimated 3,000 to 5,500 poor adults -- mostly elderly and ...
