Aug. 14--WATERBURY, Conn.--OptiCare Health Systems Inc., which has worked to restructure operations since laboring through difficult times in 2001, has sold its North Carolina retail division for an estimated $5.7 million.
The move cuts its debt, pares its payroll and settles a dispute with the doctors who ran the operation.
The city-based eye-care company said Optometric Eye Care Center P.A., which is run by former OptiCare officers Dr. Allan L.M. Barker and Dr. D. Blair Harrold, acquired the 24 Optometric eye-care offices across North Carolina. ...
