The bottom of the Seattle lineup saved up one of its best games to lend support to a pitcher who started the season at the bottom of the rotation last night.
Dan Wilson had a double and two singles and Desi Relaford tripled, doubled and singled in support of Joel Pineiro, who pitched Seattle to a 10-3 victory over Boston last night.
Pineiro, who started the season as the Mariners' No. 5 starter, saved one of his biggest performances for a pennant race series, limiting Boston to two runs, one earned, in 71/3 innings. The Mariners, leading the AL West, and the Red Sox, in second place in the East, are two of ...
