Encouraging Pharmacists To Do More While an estimated 55 million couples now buy their family planning supplies in pharmacies (see p. 3), eight times as many could be pharmacy customers. Worldwide, about 447 million couples need temporary family planning. Hypothetically, all these couples could be buying contraceptives in pharmacies.
