MILWAUKEE -- Harley-Davidson, three utility firms and nine other Wisconsin companies are standing behind their recent financial reports.
The 13 companies said they filed sworn statements by Wednesday confirming the accuracy of their reports with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The commission required the largest publicly owned companies nationwide, including 16 in Wisconsin, to submit the sworn statements as a means of restoring investor confidence after corporate scandals that battered stocks in nearly every sector.
