Guatemala is seeking US$6.8 million from the Inter-American Development Bank for Strengthening Acquisitions of Goods and Services (GU0164). The program would promote the efficiency and transparency in the purchases and contracts of goods and services in sustainable form, through development and implementation of a National Purchase and Contracts System, which would include: (a) adaptation of a legal framework in which these processes would develop; (b) unification of the operative instruments for which they are utilized; and (c) modernization of the main public sector institutions involved.
