When's the last time you cuddled up? Last night, reading a book with one of your parents? This morning, in bed with your pet dog or cat? Cuddling gives you a warm and cozy feeling, doesn't it? Many other kinds of animals LOVE to cuddle--just like you!
PROWLING 'POSSUMS
Moms and their kids could be the biggest cuddlers of all. Take the mother opossum shown here, for example. She spent the day sleeping with her babies inside a hollow tree, all curled up in a ball. That cuddling helped keep the babies warm and safe. Now it's nighttime and Mom is on the prowl for food.
