Aug. 6 2002 - Ballistic Recovery Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BRSI or BRSI.OB) of South St. Paul, Minnesota, said that FAA officials from the Chicago Aircraft Certification Office (ACO) notified BRS on July 11, 2002 that the agency finished a review of the company's emergency parachute system for the Cessna 172 issuing Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) number SA-016-79-CH.

The STC for the Cessna 172 is the fourth such approval for BRS. Previously BRS won an STC for the Cessna 150 and 152 series (1993). And, BRS is the supplier of the Cirrus CAPS (Cirrus Airframe Parachute System) for the Duluth, Minnesota company's all-composite SR20 and SR22 aircraft ...
