Real estate industry organizations played a crucial role in healing the city's wounds after the tragic events of Sept. 11. One group, The Associated Builders and Owners of Greater New York, Inc. (ABO) initiated a rigorous fundraising campaign to help provide financial housing assistance to those families struck by the disaster.
The aid was distributed to those who suffered the death of a family member or the loss of employment in a business located south of Canal Street, in Manhattan.
Despite a total lack of experience running a major, ongoing charitable effort, the ABO mailed checks an average of 17 days after applications were received. The ABO also ...
