Despite a sharp drop in its stock last week, Rockwell Collins [COL] remains a powerhouse in providing navigation, guidance and positioning equipment for both the civilian and military aviation markets.
Navigation-related military sales have been growing by 10 to 12 percent per year, according to Rockwell Collins' executives. Total combined military and civil sales are poised to grow even faster, as the civil local area augmentation system (LAAS) program comes online. The company is also a key team member on both the joint tactical radio system (JTRS) program, which is led by Boeing [BA], and on the joint strike fighter program, led by Lockheed Martin [LMT].
