Crisis is the word many mental health officials use to describe the state of funding for non-Medicaid mental health services in Cuyahoga County.
Mental health agencies in Cuyahoga County already were reeling from increased regulatory restrictions and a $4 million, 10% cut in non-Medicaid funding when the state announced in July that it cut the county's General Community Mental Health Programs funding by 8.7% and its Case Management funding by 10% for the current fiscal 2003, said Bill Denihan, president of the Cuyahoga County Community Mental Health Board.
