Aug. 18--JANESVILLE, Wis.--Kenny Atkins, a United Auto Workers member for 31 years, is proud of his union, but he can't tell you who the UAW has endorsed for governor.
"Burton?" guessed Atkins, 61, an electrician at Janesville's General Motors plant.
U.S. Rep. Tom Barrett (D-Wis.) is the UAW's choice for governor, and one of three veteran Democrats running in the Sept. 10 primary.
Atkins is not alone. Of 15 UAW members interviewed, only two knew Barrett's name.
