The Brazilian and the German governments are to sign an agreement to produce 100,000 new alcohol-fueled cars, which would increase the hydrated alcohol consumption by 430mil liters per year in Brazil. According to the agreement, the Brazilian government would give a tax exemption for the taxi drivers who acquire alcohol-fueled cars. The exemption should amount to R$100mil (R$1,000 per car bought), which will be paid by the German government through the acquisition of carbon credits as established by Kyoto protocol.
