Aug. 20--In the wake of a wave of big-truck wrecks, U.S. Rep. John Mica on Monday urged the state to consider pushing the monster rigs off Interstates 4 and 95 during rush hours to make travel safer for the average motorist.
Mica, R-Winter Park, a member of the House Transportation Committee, wants transportation officials to look at routing truck traffic onto the Central Florida GreeneWay around Orlando to keep the tractor-trailers out of downtown, which screeches to a halt with the slightest fender bender.
