INFLATION IN UKRAINE TO HIT 3.5% IN 2002 - ECONOMICS MINISTRY
The inflation rate in Ukraine will correspond to the government's pessimistic scenario and will hit 3.5% in 2002, Ukrainian Minister of Economics and European Integration Oleksandr Shlapak said during a hot line Tuesday. One should head for the pessimistic scenario. We do not regard it necessary to change the scenario despite deflation registered early this year, the minister said, adding that the latter half of a year is always more inflationary than the first.
