Just once, why can't the new jean - the must-have among the high-fashion set - be from somewhere like the Gap, where all jeans are currently $10 off?
Or better yet, why can't Vogue and Elle declare the newest, hottest "it" style to be a well-worn pair of Levi's with a patch of crusty Goldfish crackers on one leg and a rip at the knee? Those I already have in my closet.
Alas, those cooler than I have declared Habitual the jean of the moment. This denim - at a very un-Gap price of $175 per pair - comes courtesy of a 31-year-old guy named Michael Colovos and an I-know-all-the-right-people marketing strategy.
Though there's no truth to the rumor ...
